Meet the Passionists at St. Paul of the Cross Monastery
Pittsburgh, PA
Vc. Rev. Gerald Laba, C.P.
Fr. Gerald, a native Pittsburgher, has been in Passionist Formation as Student Director and Novice Master. He has also served as Vice-Provincial before his election as superior of our Pittsburgh Monastery in 2006.
Fr. Pat Geinzer, C.P.
Fr. Pat is on the ministry team in our Retreat Center. Fr. Pat was a late vocation, ordained in 1995. Fr. Pat has served as parochial vicar in our Jamaica, N.Y. Parish, our Scranton Parish and our Greenville, N.C. parish before coming to our retreat team here in Pittsburgh. Fr. Pat helps with various Monastery ministries.
Fr. Donald Ware, C.P.
Fr. Don has been involved for 30 years in Province Retreat Centers. He is now back in Pittsburgh, involved in the Monastery ministries including the retreat center and the Passionist Associates. Fr. Don is also on the Board of Neighborhood Association. Fr. Don is also Asst. Superior of the CP community.
Fr. Tim Fitzgerald, C.P.
Fr. Tim is a native of Philadelphia. He entered the Passionist Community in 1948 and was ordained in 1956. After pursuing further studies in Rome, where he obtained a doctorate in theology, he remained there for several years working in the general headquarters of the Passionist Congregation. In 1965 he returned to the States where he was appointed Master of Novices at St. Paul’s Monastery in Pittsburgh, PA. Subsequently he taught theology at Duquesne University from 1971-1979. Fr. Tim is presently engaged in spiritual direction and is active in the various other ministries of the Monastery.
Fr. Michael Salvagna, C.P.
Fr. Mike is back in Pittsburgh now. From 1994 - 2001 Fr. Mike was the Retreat Director here in Pittsburgh. Fr. Mike has served in various ministries in our Province. He will now be on the Retreat team and help with other Monastery ministries.

Fr. William Davin, C.P.
Fr. Bill is a native Pittsburgher. Over his many years as a priest, he has been fruitfully involved in the youth work retreat center and hospital ministristy and parish work. He now resides in the Marion Manor Personal Care Facility in Greentree, Pittsburgh.
Frs. John McMillan, Ed Moran, Joe Sedley, Vincent Segotta, and Paul Vaeth
These five wonderful Passionists have lived in various Passionist communities in our Eastern U.S. Province. They have served in various Passionist ministries. Now they help in the Pittsburgh Monastery ministries, including daily Eucharist and Sacrement of Reconciliation and spiritual counseling. Frs. Joe and Paul are also adjunct Retreat Center ministry staff. Fr. John does AA Fifth Step ministry.
Brs. Leo DiFiore, Paul Joseph Morgan, and Mathew Krawchyk
Brs. Paul Joseph Morgan and Mathew Krawchyk and Leo DiFiore are natives of Pittsburgh who are now retired but still help the Monastery in various ways and contribute to our community life.

Fr. Jerome Vereb, C.P.
Fr. Jerome Vereb has been recently assigned to the Monastery Community. Fr. Jerome has worked extensively for the Vatican over the years of his ministry. He has more recently taught theology at the diocesan seminary in Huntington, N.Y. Almost two years ago Fr. Jerome had a heart transplant in Pittsburgh and is presently recovering from that operation.
